TANDEM FLIGHTS

Valid on 01/12/2021

1. Target Audience:

Minimum age of 5 years, parental authorization required for minors. For safety and equipment compatibility reasons (paraglider size), the passenger's weight must be a minimum of 20 kg and a maximum of 100 kg (may vary based on the passenger's abilities). Beyond these limits, passengers should consult us prior to booking.

The passenger must be physically fit enough to trot for about ten meters while maintaining balance. No medical certificate is required.

Persons with physical disabilities: The activity is accessible to most individuals, subject to certain conditions to be discussed. We have a flight wheelchair, and our instructors are specifically qualified for this. Please inform us in advance of booking.

2. Service Content:

Included: Supervision by a State-Certified Instructor, Civil Liability and Personal Accident Insurance, flight equipment, and safety gear (helmet), transportation to practice sites, a video of the flight with the instructor's camera upon request.

What to bring: Sportswear (wear sneakers or mountain shoes, bring a windbreaker and sunglasses). It is not advisable to use your cameras or phones during the flight; we cannot be held responsible for falling objects.

Paragliding depends on daily weather conditions, so the flight duration cannot be guaranteed. Generally, you will spend about 1.5 hours with us, including meeting, transportation to the take-off site by vehicle or cable car, instructions, equipment preparation, take-off, flying, landing near your vehicle, and farewells. Depending on weather conditions and your preferences, our instructors will adjust the service and try to extend the flight if possible.

3. Passenger's Role:

Tandem paragliding is a way to experience paragliding under the guidance of State-Certified Instructors. The passenger must actively contribute to our takeoff. The instructor will teach them beforehand how to ensure a smooth takeoff and landing. The passenger commits to attentively listening to and following instructions.

4. Insurance:

The passenger is covered by the insurance policies taken out by the instructor for Civil Liability and Personal Accident. If the passenger deems the coverage insufficient, they can, at their own expense, subscribe to any other insurance policy they find necessary.

5. Reservation and Pricing Conditions:

Reservations can be made by phone, email, through the contact form on the website www.parapentepaysdegex.fr, and are considered accepted when we respond. Online reservations can also be made through the Monts Jura store platform for open flight slots or via the bookandglide website for gift vouchers.

Our current pricing conditions are those indicated on the "tarifs" page of our website for the current calendar year.

Payment can be made:

  • In advance, only after phone or email contact, by bank transfer (IBAN on request) or by check;

  • On the day of the service by check, ANCV holiday vouchers, or cash;

  • Online by credit card (no on-site credit card terminal).

For groups of 3 or more people, a deposit equal to 50% of the total amount will be requested. The balance will be settled on the day of the service.

6. Right of Withdrawal:

In accordance with Article L121-20, the consumer has a period of seven clear days to exercise their right of withdrawal without having to justify reasons or pay penalties, except, if applicable, return costs. The consumer may deviate from this period if they cannot travel and simultaneously need an immediate and necessary service for their living conditions. In this case, they would still exercise their right of withdrawal without having to justify reasons or pay penalties.

The period mentioned in the preceding paragraph runs from the receipt for goods or the acceptance of the offer for services.

If the seven-day period expires on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, it is extended until the first working day following.

7. Cancellation and Rescheduling Conditions:

In case of cancellation on your part, we refund 100% up to 7 days before the flight. Beyond this period, we cannot proceed with the refund. Gift vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase, usable on days open on the tandem schedule (a minimum of 30 open days annually is guaranteed). It is the passenger's responsibility to inquire about available slots and to book on one of these days. After one year, the gift voucher cannot be extended or refunded.

COVID-19: 100% refund up to the day before the flight if your cancellation is related to COVID (positive test or contact case, or you show symptoms, government travel restrictions are in place, etc.).

For safety reasons, our instructors reserve the right to cancel a flight at any time if they deem that weather conditions are unfavorable. Their decision is based on their forecasting tools and their observation of the sky. This decision is not open to discussion.

In the event of our cancellation due to unfavorable weather, we offer a rescheduling date. If no availability is found, we refund 100%.

8. Appointment Setting:

We operate on different flight sites, all located within an hour's drive around Gex. Our activity is highly dependent on weather conditions: the choice of the takeoff site will be made based on the day's conditions. The meeting point will be communicated to you no later than the evening before your reservation date. An email will be sent with directions to get there.

The passenger understands the need for adaptability and cannot cancel because the chosen site is not their preference: sites differ in orientation but all offer a beautiful landscape and the experience of free flight.

Thank you and see you soon!

The school regularly communicates on days open to students in continuous training. The student reserves their spot on a day by phone, SMS, WhatsApp, or email.

In case of cancellation on your part up to 24 hours before the scheduled day, the day is not deducted from your balance. The same applies if we cancel due to very unfavorable weather forecasts.

COVID-19: the day is not deducted if your cancellation is related to COVID (positive test or contact case, or you show symptoms, travel restrictions imposed by the government...).

Validity period: the days subscribed to in the voucher are valid for 2 years from the payment date.

5. Pricing Conditions:

Our current pricing conditions are those indicated on the "tarifs" page of our website for the current calendar year.

6. Week Schedule/Rhythm:

On the first day of the course, each trainee must subscribe to an FFVL license/associated Civil Liability insurance. They will be informed of the possibility of subscribing to optional Individual Accident insurance.

The meeting is generally set at 8 a.m. at the school's premises.

A complete week refers to 30 hours of training, spread over 4 to 6 days depending on the weather. For short courses (2 to 4 days), a training day is equivalent to 6 hours. The schedules are flexible from day to day to best adapt to weather conditions: for example, we may work early in the morning and return late in the afternoon, or have a continuous day with a short break for lunch. Trainees are informed the day before of the program for the next day.

In case of favorable weather during the course, trainees may be offered to accelerate the training to complete it in 4 days, or extend it to Saturday or Sunday to replace any missed days.

The training consists of:

  • Theoretical classroom sessions;

  • Ground handling exercises with the paraglider: flat ground or slope training;

  • Solo or tandem instructional flight sessions;

  • Debriefing sessions and video analysis in the classroom.

For safety reasons, the number of flights performed is not guaranteed; it depends on weather conditions and each individual's progress.

7. Equipment:

The flight equipment provided by the school must be handled with the utmost care by each individual, following a handling methodology and best practices taught on the first day.

For pilots wishing to use their personal equipment, it is subject to a prior check by the instructors to ensure safety (please bring any elements that can help us evaluate the proper maintenance of your equipment: dated purchase invoice, revision report, flight hours tracking, date of reserve parachute folding, etc.). In case of doubt, our instructors reserve the right to refuse the use of this equipment: the trainee then agrees to fly with the school's equipment.

8. Memo: What should I bring on the first day of the course?

  • Recent medical certificate (if not, provide the following information: date of issuance, name, and contact information of the doctor)

  • Credit card or check to pay for the FFVL license/insurance

  • Clothing: sportswear, windbreaker, gloves, sunglasses, sneakers, or mountain shoes, cap

  • Water!!

  • Small backpack for all of this and lunch (refreshment solutions offered each day)

Thank you and see you soon!
