The teaching team

Our qualified and experienced instructors

The Sur Un Nuage school manages the schedule of courses and establishes supervision by carefully selected instructors through an agreement between independent contractors.

Romain Gabily :

State-certified instructor, school manager

Moniteur parapente Pays de Gex
  • Has been flying since 1999 but really caught the virus from 2011!

  • State-certified instructor since 2021.

  • FFVL and ENSA handi-paragliding instructor.

  • A great experience in animation and pedagogy.

  • Practice distance flying in competition.

  • Appreciate just as much a small flight-rando with the friends.

  • His finest flight: an eleven-hour cross-country from Vercors, which took him to Dévoluy, Gap, Ecrins and Belledonne...

  • Took off from his previous job as an engineer because he couldn't find a way in it, whereas in paragliding at least he knows that he has to land facing wind!

Pedagogical team of the school

Into action !

Our pedagogy

A paragliding course is a condensed adventure in one week! Many new experiences to explore, not only by flying but also through interactions and the collective energy within a group!

Our approach to teaching begins with considering the trainee on multiple levels:

  • Your expectations;

  • Your motivations;

  • Your needs to feel comfortable within the group;

  • Your emotional states.

We believe that a serene training environment will enhance your learning capabilities and our ability to identify avenues for improvement. Therefore, we emphasize trying to alleviate stress related to the activity or any frustrations within the group, allowing each individual to focus on their progress without external disruptions.

This is achieved through various means:

  • Clearly stating collective and individual objectives;

  • Providing clear explanations of rhythms and logistics;

  • Addressing the human factor early on to learn to practice safely;

  • Opening different communication channels at different times for everyone to express themselves;

  • Implementing techniques to identify one's current emotional state, sharing it with the group;

  • Fostering kindness within the group;

  • Conducting interactive sessions with constructive exchanges;

  • Taking the time to assess prerequisites without pressure;

  • Adjusting the progression complexity based on each person's pace;

  • Creating situations for success;

  • Reviewing the progress made, positioning your achieved level against a benchmark (FFVL pilot's passport);

  • Facilitating debriefing sessions for days and stages;

  • Clearly presenting individual paths for further progression;

  • Collecting and considering your feedback!

In short, we want every student to feel like they're on cloud nine... until they can identify and perhaps approach those clouds one day!
